Drywall repair in Illinois

Holes, cracks and water spots patched, textured and ready for paint.

Jobs we handle

  • Doorknob holes and dents
  • Cracks and nail pops
  • Water-damaged patches
  • Texture matching

When a doorknob goes through the wall or a crack keeps coming back, the fix is the same: cut it clean, back it, patch it and blend it in so you can’t find it after paint. Nikola handles holes from nail-size to fist-size and bigger, plus the cracks, dents and water spots that show up in every house.

What’s included

  • Cutting out loose or damaged drywall and adding backing where the patch needs it
  • Taping, mudding and sanding until the patch sits flush with the wall
  • Texture to match the wall around it
  • Stain-blocking primer over water spots, so they don’t bleed back through the paint
  • Fixing nail pops by setting new screws, not just covering the old nail
  • Paint, if you have the color on hand or want Nikola to pick it up

How the visit goes

Nikola shows up when he says he will, puts drop cloths down and looks over the damage before he starts cutting. Drywall dust gets everywhere, so he keeps it to the work area and vacuums before he leaves.

If the wall turns out to hide something bigger, like an active leak or soft framing, he stops and shows you before doing anything you didn’t agree to. A patch over a leak just fails again, and you shouldn’t pay for it twice.

Materials

Nikola brings the drywall, joint compound, tape and primer. For paint, have your leftover can ready, or tell him the brand and color and he can pick it up and list it on your quote. No leftover paint? A paint store can usually match a small chip cut from a hidden spot.

Timing

Small holes, cracks and nail pops often wrap up in one visit. Larger patches need each coat of compound to dry before the next one goes on, so they may take a second short trip to sand, texture and paint. Your written quote says which before any work starts, so you can plan around it.

Got more than one wall to fix, or a few other small jobs? Put them all on one list and get them done in the same visit.

Questions about drywall repair

Can you match my wall texture?

Usually, yes. Smooth walls, orange peel and knockdown are the common ones, and the patch gets textured to blend with the wall around it. Send a close-up photo of the wall with your request and Nikola can tell you up front.

Will I be able to see the patch?

Once it's textured, primed and painted, it should blend in. Paint is the usual giveaway: an old wall rarely matches a fresh can exactly, so repainting the wall from corner to corner often looks better than painting just the patch. Nikola will tell you which way he'd go when he quotes.

Can you fix a water-stained ceiling?

Yes, once the leak is fixed. Nikola cuts out or seals the damaged area, patches it and blends it into the ceiling. If water is still coming through, call a plumber or roofer first.

How long does a patch take?

Small holes and cracks often get done in one visit. Bigger patches need each coat of compound to dry, so they can take a second short visit to sand, texture and paint. Your written quote says which.
